Support Earth My Earth

How many clothes can you buy in a lifetime wear in a lifetime waste in a lifetime?” It is not everyday that we have the opportunity to put our ecological consciousness into action, and at the same time express our emotions creatively about this planet that hosts us. “Earth, my Earth” embodies exactly this opportunity.

Kynourio Soma is collaborating with Fingerprint Dance who is the hosting association. Other groups who have embraced the project are: Bridport Youth Dance including dancers from The Weavers, No limits intergrated dance company, Grace + Growl dance company of mature performers, Bridport School of Regenerative Fashion, Bridport Food Matters, Harbour House Residential Care Home for the elderly, West Bay Swimmers Action Group. Each community group brings their expertise, knowledge and passion to the project creating a multi faceted event with workshops, performances, collaborative installation, sustainable living activities and a shared community meal.

Earth My Earth

Its framework travels to each location, inviting the local community and artists to actively participate in creative activism and experiential workshops.
As a project it adapts, interacts, expands, redefines and shapes itself and takes its final form in each place that hosts. All its layers unfold towards an event which consists of the collective creation of an installation, interactive performances and a feast for the closure of the event. It invites the collaboration of diverse associations and is addressed to a multi-cultural community of all ages. The public space is used as a museum, a stage and as a space for social gathering and exchange, creating a communal experience open to everyone.

It first took place in November 2025 in ARCADIA, Peloponnese in Greece as a continuation of two previous environmental artistic projects, “Sea, my Sea” (2024) and Bridge, my Bridge” (2024).

The initial concept of the event was conceived by choreographer Aggeliki Papadatou, with key contributor yoga and somatics teacher Helen Noakes. For the Dorset edition the artist producer Cleo Evans will join us as a core member of the team.

Before the After 2

The walking/site-specific artistic experience “Before the After 2°” has been in preparation since October 2022. Its theme is the imprint of school life on individuals over the years, sparked by the “farewell” to the Old Elementary School of Tyros, a building of cultural and architectural significance, just before its renovation and change of use.

Members of the community with personal memories, current students from the area, and artists from various disciplines create contemporary art based on this shared theme.

The “School” steps outside its walls and moves into the open space. Memories of past school life are transformed into contemporary art through dance, visual arts, music, theater, and video. As visitors walk at their own pace in the natural environment, they gradually discover the various actions unfolding, experiencing something unique.

Through the theme of school memories, the experiences of the former students of the Old Elementary School of Tyros are recorded, while also connecting with the memories of current students to create a vision for the future. In this way, the school journey of the area is partially mapped, forming a bridge that unites past, present, and future.

Before the After

The original artistic walking experience took place at “Okto Alonia,” in the location of Gouvies, in the village of Sapounakeika, Tyros, in the Municipality of South Kynouria. The concept and artistic direction were by choreographer Aggeliki Papadatou, who has been living permanently in Sapounakeika for the past few years. The Center for Art and Culture, QUILOMBO LAB, under the direction of Nelli Poulopoulou, was responsible for organizing this event.

The theme explored by all the artists was memory and its imprint on space and the body. The artists collaborated with each other and with the volunteer participants, researching the theme of loss in the natural setting of the threshing floors, diving into both collective and individual memory. The result touched the audience on many levels.

As a walking experience, visitors were invited to walk, accompanied by volunteers, from the village square to the “Okto Alonia” and to discover, each at their own pace, the natural and cultural environment that connects them with the history and people of the past. Upon reaching the threshing floors, the audience watched and participated in the actions by walking along the path that crosses them.

The deserted threshing floors of today, symbolizing the changes brought by time, gained a new use and meaning through performing arts (dance, visual installations, music, and interaction).

Since “…Before the After…” was an experience inspired by the past, the Tsakonian language, a language that takes us deep into time, was a natural part of it.

“Sea, my Sea…Thalassa, Thalassa mou…. As Sala Tha Mou”

Audience was guided through the performance experience in three spaces.
This event is the result deriving from the joint effort of people who live in the area, varying in back round, age and nationalities. We all shared our love for the sea and creative expression.

It’s not just a game, it’s not just literature, it’s not just a performance, it’s an experience where small and big surprises unfold one by one along the port of Tyros. Installations and more, inspired by the general and more specific theme of the Sea, are integrated in the specific site, offering an exclusive tour through a performative and artistic view.

“Speaking SEA” «Ομιλούμενη Θάλασσα»

“Speaking SEA” «Ομιλούμενη Θάλασσα» is one of the installations which will took place at ΠαραΤυρό festival 2024. The sound installation was placed at the bench with a view towards the sea and also there was recently a small box with books placed there to serve as a lending library open to the public. For this reason, we decided to enhance the spot by adding some recordings of texts.

The aim is to collect texts from many countries and in many languages sharing the idea that the “SEA is an element that brings us together. The texts are either original texts or texts chosen by the readers.

Bridge my Bridge

Bridging levels, spaces, time, mediums and people.
A site-specific spectacle which invites the audience to an active viewing. Leondion bridges are being transformed into a stage.
Its theme is approached through ACTION from our diverse community for our EARTH.
I like to search for ways to open up the creative process to a diverse community (in age, sizes, backrounds, interests etc)

On the 1st of November Leonidio’s Bridges staged the event “Bridge, my Bridge” where the audience, the performers, the climbers/performers and the organizers, shared moments full of colourful movement on, over, under and around the Bridge on many levels of existence.
Manuel cinematography, dance, activism and therapy of EARTH combined to form this site specific, interactive, walking art experience where climbers, artists and members of the community met.

The project started already before the show, with a series of activities where our LOVE for our home came into ACTION. From cleaning the river bed up to the dancing colours the interactive games and the collective therapy of the earth, Bridge my Bridge left us with warm memories!
I hope we meet again soon to create and share meaningful experiences.
